Ekin-Su Goes for Gold in Nadine Merabi

From Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra to Beyoncé at the Golden Globes, Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes to Kate Moss at the London 2012 Olympics, a great gold dress has long been a winning sartorial formula held in high esteem by pop culture. Its allure is undeniable. An instant headturner that instantly wraps its wearer in a swathe of splendour and glamour, the great gold dress can comfortably go head to head with a classic little black dress as the most exquisite in the room.

The latest to storm to the top of the nation’s talking point just happens to be a particularly special one for Nadine Merabi. For the final of Love Island 2022, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu opted for our Lottie dress in the seemingly serene, but extra fizzingly elegant champagne hue.

After a spell of twists and turns in The Villa, the Lottie dress was the perfect option for the 27-year-old to celebrate her journey on the show and her winning moment with her beau, Davide Sanclimenti. The on-again, off-again couple won the show with a landslide 63 per cent of the vote, proving just how much we love a real-life romance and a bit of on-screen drama peppered throughout. Or, as Davide himself put it: “true love is never only roses and flowers, real things are never perfect.”

Ekin-Su’s Lottie dress has been designed to allow its wearer to stand out from the crowd, no matter the occasion. Each shimmering length of sparkle is hand embellished with crystal beads that fall in an effervescent waterfall design to create a stunning effect as it catches the light with every movement. Then, the mini-skirt length is complete with the addition of coordinating feathers at the hemline to offer further sartorial drama. It’s safe to say it’s the ultimate dress to wear for evenings of success and celebration, as was true for Ekin-Su.

For those inspired by Ekin-Su’s option and now writing “glamorous gold party dress” at the top of their autumn/winter 2022 wishlists, there are a wealth of styles at Nadine Merabi ready for you to make your own. Take the asymmetric Celina style for instance. Entirely covered in sequins to create a liquid-like effect, it has a one-sleeve style with a statement-making trailing drape. Or maybe the romantic Stella gown is more befitting your occasion with its plunging neckline and evocative gold embellished leaf design.

As has been vastly written about and praised, the wardrobe for this year’s show played out a little different to the ones of series past. Each piece worn by the contestants was pre-loved, including Ekin-Su’s Nadine Merabi Lottie. It’s something we were thrilled to see.

With our Impact Commitments in place, each piece that boasts the Nadine Merabi label is designed to be worn, loved and even shared as much as possible. We always love to see how you choose to wear Nadine Merabi pieces for life’s most important moments, adding memories to their style attributes to ensure you fall in love with them all the more, and this was none the more true than for Ekin-Su’s moment in the spotlight.
